About Camas Grey & Columbia River Basalt

The Camas Basalt has been quarried from the Fisher pit in Camas Washington for abut 100 years. The durability and workability of this fine building stone has made it a local favorite. The Camas Grey is a durable basalt that can be cut into many different dimensions. The natural structure of the stone resembles a natural castle look with various shades of grey and a has basalt density that conducts and retains heat and coolness. The Camas Grey has been used in multiple high-end commercial projects ranging from the Sunset House fireplace to the Portland Zoo.

Columbia River Basalt is a stone appreciated by landscapers, masons and homeowners for its natural gray tones as well as its workability. The quarry, located in the Pacific Northwest�s backyard, provides a diverse product line to ensure compatibility with multiple projects. Columns and boulders add strong geometric contrasts to the soft lines of foliage and can also be drilled to make a Northwest favorite bubbler. Wall rock and split rock can be used as a veneer or for rustic garden walls. The Ashlar Cut can be custom cut for easy application and unique patterns.

A Split 3"- 41/2" is used for patios, dry stack walls, veneering on walls, walk ways, water features and step stones.

Thin Split 1"- 3" is used for patios, dry stack walls, veneering on walls, walk ways, water features and step stones.

Squares & Recs 3" - 41/2" is used in dry stack walls, water features, gardens walls, etc.

Curb Stone 5" - 71/2" is used for curbing, dry stacked walls, stair steps, wall caps and landscape edgeing.

Cut Stone 3/4" - 13/4" is a cut thin veneer used for wall veneers.

Slabs 5"- 8" are used for step stairs, waterfeatures, benches, head stones

Wall Rock 25-150lbs ea are used for retaining walls , flower beds and waterfeatures.

Boulders 200lbs ea and up are used in walls, retaining walls, flower beds and waterfeatures
